Patient Shot, Critically Wounded By Deputy At Torrance Hospital After Becoming Violent

TORRANCE (CBSLA) – A patient was shot and critically wounded by a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputy at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance late Tuesday night after he allegedly went on a violent rampage.

The suspect was shot by a deputy at around 11:15 p.m. inside the hospital, which is located at 1000 W. Carson St.

The suspect, a man between 30 and 40-years-old, is in critical condition at the hospital undergoing surgery for gunshot wounds, a sheriff’s spokesperson said. The deputy was not injured.
