PCH in Redondo Beach to Close Sunday Morning for Restriping

Crews need daytime work conditions in order for the paint to set up given the humidity from the ocean a few blocks away.

REDONDO BEACH, CA -- A stretch of southbound Pacific Coast Highway will be closed from 6 a.m. to noon on Sunday in Redondo Beach so crews can re-stripe the roadway, Caltrans announced Friday.

The southbound lanes will be closed between Carnelian and Diamond streets, and detour signs will be posted, Caltrans said.

When complete, there will be a "double-double" yellow stripe leading up to the left turn pocket to Diamond Street, which will prevent motorists from making an illegal left turn into adjacent driveways on the east side of the road, Caltrans reported.
