Phuket Thai Worth a Try
The fast service is perfect for those stopping by on their lunch breaks.
The name alone is a conversation starter. (pronounced "Foo Ket") is located off Pacific Coast Highway in a small plaza with a spacious seating area that allows the California sun to shine through its large windows.
The service was prompt and friendly, with the wait staff making polite conversations with their guests. The menu offered large varieties of standard Thai take out, including noodles, curries, and hot pots. Vegetarian dishes were also available.
A lunch special is provided on weekdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. All the lunch specials include a soup or salad and steamed white or brown rice. These lunch portions were just as generous as their dinner counterparts, offered at a good value.

Up first was the Tom Kha Kai, which is a variation of chicken soup. This type is made with coconut milk and lemon juice, which was very refreshing— the middle ground for those who do not care for curry or spice but are tired of won ton soup.
The Ginger Chicken was served in a large bowl with an equally large mountain of rice. The chicken was doused in a soy sauce base sauce. While tasty and fresh, not a hint of garlic was in it, unfortunately.

There were no complaints on the brown rice. It too was fresh but nothing spectacular.
The settling of the payment also did not take long, which is essential for those stopping by on their lunch breaks.
