Police Blotter: May 30-June 6

Power outage: Officers were dispatched to a traffic collision around 9 p.m. on May 30 involving multiple vehicles in the area of Hawthorne Boulevard and 182^nd Street. One of the vehicles hit a power pole and caused an outage in areas of north Redondo and west Torrance. Power was restored a few hours later. 

Vehicle burglary: Around 3 a.m., officers responded to a call of someone trying door handles on vehicles in the 100 block of South Catalina Avenue on May 30. Arriving officers located three people, one of whom tried to flee, and detained them for further investigation. All three people were subsequently arrested on suspicion of vehicle burglary. 

Stolen generators: Officers responded to a burglary alarm at Redondo Marine Hardware at 1010 N. Catalina Ave. in the early morning of May 31. Arriving officers saw that a portion of the front window had been smashed. The officers conducted a search of the business and contacted the owner. The investigation revealed that two generators had been taken. 

Minors arrested: A Redondo Beach officer was on patrol in north Redondo about 7 p.m. June 4 when people told him about a fight they had just witnessed near Dale Page Park on Robinson Street and Beland Boulevard. Although responding officers could not locate the incident, the Police Department received a call from Little Company of Mary Hospital about two stabbing victims in the emergency room. According to the victims, they sustained stab wounds during an altercation near Dale Page Park. Officers obtained statements from witnesses and the victims. The suspects were subsequently identified within several hours, and two Redondo Beach residents were arrested on suspicion of attempted homicide and robbery and transported to Juvenile Hall.
