Redondo Beach Crime Blotter: Stolen Golf Clubs, Unsuccessful Car Theft

REDONDO BEACH, CA — The following is the most recent Redondo Beach Police Department crime blotter.

Street Robbery

• Jan. 21, 2023 – 9:37 p.m. to 11:18 p.m. – 1300 block of Amethyst Street – According to RBPD, a woman was sitting in her car outside of her house when a male suspect reached into her vehicle and "forcefully grabbed" her iPhone 12 from her.

Residential Burglary

• Jan. 25-26, 2023 - 10:30 a.m to 4:45 a.m. - 1800 block of Aviation Way - A white 2018 Toyota Prius was reported stolen from a parking lot in a gated apartment complex, RBPD said. The vehicle was later recovered in Redondo Beach on Jan. 28 and a female suspect was arrested.

Burglary Vehicle

• Jan. 28, 2023 - 9:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. - 1200 block of Agate Street - According to police, a suspect attempted to enter a silver 2016 Honda Civic but was unsuccessful.
• Jan. 27-28, 2023 - 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 a.m. - 2700 block of Carnegie Lane - A purse and vehicle registration was reported stolen from a blue 2013 Ford Fusion according to RBPD.
• Jan. 26-27, 2023 - 4:00 p.m. to 3:45 a.m. - 700 block of Avenue C - An LAX airline I.D., LAX I.D. and 10 miscellaneous tools including wrenches, sockets and screwdrivers were reported stolen from a silver 2013 Ford Explorer RBPD said. Officials said the suspect pried the driver's side door from its frame to take the items.
• Jan. 26, 2023 - 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. - 300 block of Esplanade - Three credit cards, cash and an iPhone 13 Pro were stolen from at grey pickup truck according to RBPD.

Taken From Vehicle

• Jan. 26-27, 2023 - 5:30 p.m. to 7:20 a.m. - Garnet Street and South Broadway - A golf club bag with 12-15 golf clubs were reportedly taken from a white 2001 Chevrolet S-10 according to RBPD.
• Jan. 28, 2023 - 4:30 a.m. to 5:30 a.m. - 2600 block of Curtis Avenue - A suspect reportedly broke into a grey 2022 Kia Telluride, removed the fuse box panel and left it on the driver's seat, RBPD said.
• Feb. 1, 2023 - 7 a.m. to 7:15 a.m. - 2500 block of Graham Avenue - A debit card and an unknown amount of money were taken from a car inside of an apartment complex parking garage, RBPD said.
• Jan. 27, 2023 - 4:23 a.m. to 4:47 a.m. - 2600 block of Gates Avenue - A garage door opener, and a key to a Honda CR-V were stolen from a white Infiniti QX60 parked behind the Honda, according to RBPD.

Stolen Vehicles

• Jan. 27-28, 2023 - 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. - 600 block of South Prospect Avenue - A 2012 Kawasaki KX250F Dirtbike was secured with a chain to a fence in a parking structure for a residential complex when it was stolen, RBPD said. The bike's license plate number is 25GD21.
• Jan. 26-27, 2023 - 5:30 p.m. to 7:20 a.m. - Garnet Street and South Broadway- A white 2001 Chevrolet S-10 was reported stolen and was later recovered by the Hawthorne Police Department on Jan. 30.
• Jan. 27, 2023 - 4:23 a.m. to 4:47.m. - 2600 block of Gates Avenue - Suspects attempted to steal a red Honda CR-V after retrieving the key to the car from an Infiniti behind the Honda. The suspects couldn't steal the Honda because the Inifiniti was blocking their way, RBPD said.
