Redondo Beach Crime Blotter: 4 Arrested, Motorbike Theft
The crime blotter covers incidents in Redondo Beach from June 2 to 8.
REDONDO BEACH, CA — The following is the most recent Redondo Beach Police Department crime blotter.
Commercial Burglary
- May 30-31, 2023 – 12 a.m. to 10 a.m. – 3700 block of Inglewood Avenue – A sterling silverware set in a wooden box and collectible sports cards were reported stolen from a locked storage unit by prying the door open, RBPD said. No information was available about any suspects.
Residential Burglary
- May 31, 2023 - 5:55 a.m. to 6:15 a.m. - 700 block of Esplanade - A specialized E-bike with a basket was reported stolen from an underground parking area of an apartment complex, authorities said. According to RBPD, the electronic entry gate to the parking area was broken. The suspect was described as a Hispanic man with a slender build who was about 5-feet-8-inches tall.
Vehicle Burglary
- June 2, 2023 - 5 p.m. to 8:10 p.m. - 1800 block of Hawthorne Boulevard - A purse and a social security card were reported stolen from a black Mitsubishi Outlander in Redondo Beach, police said. Officers said the rear driver's side window was smashed. No information was available about any suspects.
- June 1, 2023 - 12:30 a.m. to 12:49 a.m. - 400 block of North Broadway - The driver's side window of a blue Tesla Model Y was smashed, police said, but nothing was reported stolen from the car. Officers said there are three male suspects, but no further information was provided.
- May 31, 2023 - 3 a.m. to 4:55 a.m. - 200 block of Avenue E - According to RBPD, an attempt was made to enter a white 1993 Volkswagen Eurovan, but it was unsuccessful. The lock on the driver's side door was punched, police said.
- May 31, 2023 - 3:10 a.m.- 200 block of Avenue E - According to RBPD the driver's side door lock of a gray 2023 Ford F-250 was punched, but nothing was stolen from the truck. Officers described the suspects as a Hispanic man and woman and a Black man, but no further details were available.
- May 31, 2023 - 3:19 a.m. to 3:40 a.m. - South Pacific Coast Highway and Avenue E - RBPD arrested three people after they attempted to steal from two different vehicles, officers said. Police said the suspects triggered the alarms on a Ford Bronco and a Ford F-250 after they used a screwdriver to punch the locks on the cars.

- May 30, 2023 - 12 a.m. to 6 p.m. - 400 block of South Catalina Avenue - The vehicle registration of a car with no roof was taken, officers said. No information was provided about any suspects.
- May 29, 2023 - 12:15 p.m. to 1 p.m. - 200 block of Flagler Lane - Cash, credit cards and two Disneyland gift cards were taken from a car according to RBPD. No information was provided about any suspects.
- June 2-8, 2023 - Redondo Beach - During the reporting period, officers said five catalytic converters were reported stolen from various locations throughout Redondo Beach.
Stolen Vehicles
- June 4, 2023 - 3:20 a.m. - 600 block of Esplanade - According to police, an attempt was made to steal a gray 2019 Kia Soul, but it was unsuccessful. Officers said the driver's side window was smashed and it is unknown whether anything was stolen from the car. RBPD said there are four suspects who drove a gray sedan, but no further details were provided.
- June 1, 2023 - 9:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. - 2000 block of Manhattan Beach Boulevard - A gray 2015 Hyundai Sonata with the license plate 7KMY068 with a Play Station 5 and an iPad inside was reported stolen, officers said.
- June 1, 2023 - 3:25 p.m. - 700 block of Avenue A - A yellow 2020 Husqvarna 701 SM motorcycle was reported stolen but was later recovered on the same day. Officers arrested one suspect in connection to the motorbike theft.
- May 30-31, 2023 - 5 p.m. to 8 a.m. - 200 block of Avenue B - According to RBPD, an attempt was made to steal a white and tan 2000 Ford F-350, but it was unsuccessful. Police said the lock on the driver's side door lock was punched and the ignition was damaged. A Leather case containing cassette tapes was reported stolen from the car but it was later returned, officers said. Officers described the suspects as a Hispanic man and woman and a Black man, but no further details were available.
