Redondo Beach Crime Blotter: Amazon Package Not Stolen

The crime blotter covers incidents in Redondo Beach from April 21 to 27.

REDONDO BEACH, CA — The following is the most recent Redondo Beach Police Department crime blotter.

Commercial Burglary

  • April 18, 2023 – 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. – 3700 block of Inglewood Avenue – A box of clothing and a box of records were reported stolen from a locked storage unit. RBPD officers said the lock was removed.
  • April 19-20, 2023 – 7:30 p.m. to 12 a.m. – 1800 block of Hawthorne Boulevard – Makeup and chocolates were reportedly taken from a closed business, according to RBPD. Officials said they believe the suspect used a screwdriver to force the backdoor of the store open. The suspect was described as a white man.

Residential Burglary

  • April 18, 2023 - 4:43 a.m. - 500 block of Esplanade - Officers said they received a report about a 5-foot 10-inch tall white man going into an apartment complex using a key that opened keypad entry and then hit a switch to unlock the doors. According to RBPD, the man opened an Amazon package but did not take anything.

Vehicle Burglary

  • April 21, 2023 - 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. - 1800 block of Esplanade - A Hamilton watch, an iPhone 12, a Ripcurl wallet and car keys were reported stolen from a locked car according to RBPD. No information was available about any suspects.

Taken From Vehicle

  • April 21, 2023 - 1 p.m. to 1:42 p.m. - 2200 block of Dufour Avenue - A toolbox full of tools and a generator were taken from the bed of a 2007 Toyota Tundra according to police. Officers described the suspect as a 6-foot to 6-foot 2-inch Hispanic man who drove a silver Chevrolet Silverado.
  • April 21-27, 2023 - Throughout the week, RBPD said two catalytic converters were reported to be taken from various vehicles in various locations in the city.

Stolen Vehicles

  • April 14, 2023 - 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. - 2100 block of Mathews Avenue - A silver 2002 GMC Sierra 1500 was reported stolen, according to RBPD.
  • April 21, 2023 - 12:30 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. - 1800 block of Hawthorne Boulevard - A silver 2014 Hyundai Sonata was reported stolen according to RBPD. It was later recovered by the Los Angeles Sheriff's Office on April 27, authorities said.
  • April 21, 2023 - 2 p.m. to 3:20 p.m. - 1800 block of Hawthorne Boulevard- A black 2014 Kia Optima was reported stolen but was later recovered by the Los Angeles Sheriff's Office on April 27, RBPD said.
