Redondo Beach Plaza Shooting Suspect Arrested
A suspect believed to be connected to a shooting in the parking lot of the Redondo Beach Plaza was arrested this week, authorities said.
REDONDO BEACH, CA — A suspect believed to be connected to a shooting in the parking lot of the Redondo Beach Plaza was arrested this week, authorities said.
According to the Redondo Beach Police Department, officers received a report of a shooting at 4001 Inglewood Avenue on July 24 just before 5:30 p.m.
Preliminary investigation results revealed that a personal dispute between several adults escalated when one man pulled out a gun and fired several rounds, RBPD said.

"Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident, but the shots were fired proximate to numerous people in and around the business complex," police said in a statement.
Police said the suspected shooter left the scene before officers arrived, but officers were able to locate him on July 26 in Winnetka. RBPD arrested 22-year-old Mathew Lucas Garcia on suspicion of unlawful assault with a firearm.

The case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office for consideration of filing charges, RBPD said.
