Redondo Beach Pulls Survey On LGBTQ+ Statue Due To Possible 'Skewed' Data
Anyone who already submitted a response has to resubmit their opinions once a new survey has been generated, Redondo Beach officials said.
REDONDO BEACH, CA — The City of Redondo Beach has pulled an online survey asking for people's opinions of a proposed LGBTQ+ statue at the North Branch Library due to the results thus far being in question.
The survey, which was posted in mid-March, had been scheduled to be available until April 15, but is now offline until modifications are made.
"Staff were recently alerted to concerns regarding the ability for respondents to complete multiple surveys at a time, resulting in skewed data," the city said in a statement.

"We are incredibly disappointed by these actions and maintain our goal to ensure the integrity of the survey and the valuable input shared by the community," the statement continued.
According to the city, an updated survey link will be shared "soon," and that it would ensure that responses remain anonymous, and include limitations that protect from multiple responses from a single individual.

The previous deadline for submissions was April 15; the City has not indicated whether the deadline would be extended.
