Updated: Redondo Power Outages Snarl Traffic

About 77 Edison customers were without power for 24 hours, and a signal out at Redondo Beach Boulevard caused major delay

A pair of outages today left 80 Southern California Edison customers without power in Redondo Beach, where a traffic signal was dark and causing road congestion, authorities said.

A broken power pole cross arm with a wire down in the area of Vail Avenue and Manhattan Beach Boulevard cut service to 77 SCE customers, according to a utility spokeswoman.

That outage began about 9 p.m. Friday and restoration of service was expected about 5 p.m. today, SCE’s Maureen Green said.
