Redondo Primer: Residential Recycling Services
We've complied an easy-to-follow list of programs to reduce and reuse.
The city of Redondo Beach Public Works department offers extensive recycling services for single-family and multi-family residences. Let's keep our beaches and community clean by using these programs.
Curbside recycling
Curbside recycling in Redondo Beach is easy and convenient. All recyclable materials can be thrown in the blue recycling container. Place the bin curbside by 7 a.m. on your trash pickup day. For apartment and condominium buildings with more than eight units with a centralized trash location, a special recycling program is offered at no extra charge. For more information, call Public Works at (310) 318-0686, ext. 4193. If you're a new resident, or if you need additional containers, contact Consolidated Disposal Service at (800) 299-4898.

These are the items that can go into the blue bin: magazines, newspapers, phone books, flattened cardboard and cereal boxes, mixed paper, clean paper bags, plastic milk containers, empty aerosol cans, glass beverage bottles and food jars, wire coat hangers, plastic bottles and containers, aluminum, tin and steel cans and clean aluminum foil.

Consolidated Disposal Service provides a free bulky item pickup service to single-family and multi-family residences curbside or next to a building dumpster. Call (800) 299-4898 two days before your regular collection day.
Bulky items that can be picked up include furniture, refrigerators, stoves and mattresses.
Green waste recycling
Green waste is what grows in the garden. Place loose, not bagged, green waste directly in the green bin and place it curbside by 7 a.m. on your regular trash day. Bundle twigs and branches with twine or string in piles of no more than 4 feet in length and 60 pounds in weight, and place them next to the green container. Leave cut grass on the lawn--it acts as a fertilizer.
These items should not be placed in the green bin: large pieces of lumber, construction debris, oversized branches, stumps, logs, palm fronds, animal and food waste, dirt or sod, ash, fruits and vegetables.
