Refinery Siren to Blast Wednesday As Part of Test

TORRANCE, CA — Don't be alarmed when you hear a siren blare this morning. The Torrance Refining Company Community Alert Siren will be blasted at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday as part of a regularly scheduled test..

Typically, the siren serves as a warning for nearby communities. When it goes off, residents are to go indoors and shelter in place by closing windows and doors, turning off air conditioners or heaters and closing fireplace dampers.

Updates are then provided on Citisounds 1620 AM radio. Wednesday's siren is only a TEST.
