Register to Vote in Runoff Election

On May 14, residents will choose the next mayor, District 1 councilman and District 4 council member, as well as vote for a new city treasurer, in the city of Redondo Beach. Are you registered to vote?

You can check your voter registration status online. You can also call 562-466-1310 or 562-466-1323 to check. Make sure you're registered at your current address—if your address is no longer current, you'll need to re-register.

If you're not registered, there's still time. But you need to register or re-register by Tuesday, April 30, to vote in the primary. As long as your registration is postmarked by at least 15 days before the election or you hand it in on or before that date, you're good to go.

Who's Up for Election?

Redondo Beach residents narrowed down the candidates in the races for mayor and council Districts 1 and 4 in the March 5 election. The remaining candidates will face each other in a runoff.

Additionally, three candidates are vying to replace retired City Treasurer Ernie O'Dell in a special election scheduled for May 14.

• Online: An application is available on this website.
• In person: Just visit any of the L.A. County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk offices. Click here for a list of locations.
• By mail: Click here to print out this form. You can also find those forms at DMV locations and most libraries, post offices and other government buildings. In L.A. County, forms are available in Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Tagalog and Korean.

To be eligible to vote, you must be:

• A United States citizen;
• A resident of California;
• 18 years of age or older on Election Day;
• Not in prison, on parole, serving a state prison sentence in county jail, serving a sentence for a felony pursuant to subdivision (h) of Penal Code section 1170, or on post release community supervision (for more information, click here); and
• Not found by a court to be mentally incompetent.
