Residents Rally Against AES
Demonstrators call for the removal of the company's power plant in Redondo.
Redondo residents gathered at the corner of 190th/Herondo and Pacific Coast Highway on Friday night to rally against the continued operation of the AES power plant in the city. Building a Better Redondo organized the "Tear Down This Power Plant" rally to urge fellow residents to vote against the harbor rezoning Measure G in November. City Councilman Bill Brand and AES representatives were on hand for the evening demonstration, which called for parkland where the power plant now sits.
