At-Risk 72-Year-Old Man With Memory Loss Goes Missing In South Bay

The man was last heard from Sunday.

CARSON, CA — Authorities asked for the public’s help finding a 72-year-old man with memory loss who had been missing since Sunday night. He has since been found, authorities said Wednesday.

The man was last contacted at about 11 p.m. Sunday, when he said he was headed toward the Torrance area, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The man's white 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe was detected in Carson at about 10:23 p.m. Tuesday, officials said.

The man is described as Hispanic, 5 feet, 6 inches tall and about 140 pounds, with gray hair and green eyes. He was last seen wearing a dark blue jacket, blue jeans, white Reebok shoes and a knee brace.

Authorities said they are concerned for his well-being because he suffers from memory loss.
