Photo Gallery: RUHS Hosts All Awards Night
The four runners who set the state record in the 4x1,600 relay are among those honored.
A Nike-sponsored video featuring Redondo Union High School's fantastic running foursome — Rachel Bush, Chloe Curtis, Lindsey Mull and Laura O'Neill, who together set the state record in the 4x1600 relay — was the highlight of the school's All Awards Night, held Monday at the campus auditorium.
The night honored primarily academic achievements, but athletic feats snuck in and stole the show.
Set to serious music, the vide tribute featured plenty of high quality, slow-motion and up-close shots of the four runners training.

"It's outside the regular events they run during the track season," said RUHS Principal Mary Little. "Now we have state record holders at the high school."
O'Neill said the quartet's great teamwork helped it set the record.

"It was a combination of us working together," O'Neill said. "We're all really strong and we practice together every day. We all put our effort into it."
It was an honor to work with the Nike film crew, O'Neill said.
"I think it's surreal," she added.
The bulk of the All Awards presenatations focused on RUHS students' success in the classroom, rather than on the field. "It's nice to honor our students and all of their hard work and effort," said Amy Golden, RUHS assistant principal.
