Poof! Another year come and gone, just like that. 2016 was a wild, bumpy ride, that’s for sure…..but I’m feeling optimistic about the coming year. Anyway, if you plan on being out and about the South Bay this New Year’s Eve, I highly recommend taking a taxi or using Lyft or Uber. You won’t have to find, or pay, for parking; you won’t be tempted to get behind the wheel after a few drinks; and the next morning, you won’t have to wonder where you parked the car. Be safe out there!
Things won’t pick up around town until next weekend, so I’m just running the list of the larger New Year’s Eve events. As of last night, there were still tickets available for all of these events. Online sales for the Terranea event will end later today.
The Hermosa Beach Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau will host the annual New Year’s Eve Celebration www.LouSings.com. Admission is FREE to this family-friendly event and it is open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to come early to enjoy the evening specials offered by retailers and the many restaurants and bars in Hermosa Beach. Parking is limited. Shade Redondo Beach will ring in 2017 with the Seaside Starry Night New Year’s Party on Saturday, December 31. The event package includes access to all three levels of the events building, DJ, dancing, entertainment, and a complimentary champagne toast at midnight. Tickets are $75 per person. Terranea Resort presents the annual New Year’s Eve Extravaganza on Saturday, December 31. Count down to 2017 in Old Hollywood Style in the Grand Ballroom. Channeling the Hollywood glitz of the 1920s and 30s, the evening will include a deluxe open bar and food stations including a taco bar, a slider station where you can build your own sliders, as well as vegetarian options, a dim sum station with potstickers and spring rolls, and a dessert station with truffles, a variety of parfaits, cakes, and more. Shade Manhattan Beach will ring in 2017 with the Moulin Rouge New Year’s Eve Party on Saturday, December 31 beginning at 8 p.m. The event features casino style gambling, DJ KC Campbell, live burlesque, cigar lounge, appetizers, champagne toast at midnight and dancing all night long. Tickets are $100 per person. Ticket packages will be sent via certified mail to the provided address on December 16 and December 23. Last minute ticket purchases will be available for pick up prior to the event at Shade Hotel Manhattan Beach front desk or will be available at will call the night of the event. Berry Bly presents the New Year’s Eve Ball at the Portofino Hotel on Saturday, December 31 starting at 9 p.m.! Celebrate New Year’s Eve with one of the South Bay’s most celebrated party producers for a night of Las Vegas style and Hollywood elegance. Guests will countdown to 2017 on multiple dance floors featuring a host of beats from LA’s hottest DJs including Quasar, Mike Smithers, Troy Dorham, Crazu and Daddy D.
