Don’t we all look forward to taking a vacation? Not always – especially if your timing causes you to miss a few favorite events happening at home. Sometimes it can’t be helped (but we can always look forward to next year). Dine L.A. Restaurant Week is a bi-annual dining event established to introduce diners to the extensive assortment of restaurants in neighborhoods throughout Los Angeles County. Local foodies and visitors to the area will have the opportunity to enjoy a selection of specially priced prix fixe menus from some of LA’s best restaurants during this this period. It should come as no surprise that a variety of restaurants throughout the South Bay will be participating in this culinary event. This is a great opportunity to sample something different and it’s sure to whet your appetite without emptying your wallet! Dine L.A. Summer Restaurant Week takes place over 14 consecutive days and runs from July 14 through July 28. The South Bay Business Professionals of Team Referral Network meet every Thursday morning from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at Time Out Cafe. If you’re looking to build your business with warm, relationship-driven referrals, stop by one Thursday morning. They’re actively looking for local companies to join their established networking group. The City of Manhattan Beach and Skechers present the annual Manhattan Beach Open Tennis Tournament beginning today, Thursday, July 20 and running through Sunday, July 23. The Torrance Historical Society presents the annual Rock Around the Blockfundraising event in celebration of the All-America City Award tonight, Thursday, July 20 from 5 to 8 p.m. This FREE 1950s-style family event is hosted in partnership with the Torrance Historical Society, City of Torrance, CitiCABLE 3, Torrance Bakery, and the Old Torrance Neighborhood Association. The All-America City Award is one of America’s original and most prestigious community recognition awards. The City received this award for “Growth without Strain” back in 1956 when Albert Isen was Mayor of Torrance.
