South Bay by Jackie Weekend Guide May 9, 2019

Everything you would want to know about that is happening this weekend in the South Bay

Last weekend’s BeachLife Festival was an incredible success on all fronts. I attended all three days (just ask my aching back and legs), spoke with and interviewed dozens and dozens of people (all age groups, locals and visitors, GA and VIP pass holders, police officers and security personnel, volunteers, vendors, performers) and every single one of them raved about the event. I heard the same phrases day after day, “This is amazing!” “Can you believe this?” “Awesome!” How epic is this?” Considering it was the inaugural event, it really was quite an accomplishment. The only complaint I heard was people couldn’t get a signal on their phones, which was a good thing, because instead of staring at their screens, they were in the now. Kudos to Allen Sanford, his team and all the volunteers. FYI, I posted daily recaps on the website and will be posting tons of photographs over the next few days. The photographer I worked with on this event, Sam Spence, shot some seriously phenomenal pics, so when you have a moment, hop on over and check them out.
