Passover began on Tuesday and Easter is this Sunday – both joyous religious occasions involving family gatherings, shared feasts and ritual. I am always comforted by these traditions, whether I’m taking part or observing others participate….. families going to worship; people dressed in bright spring colors and fancy hats; friends enjoying brunch; or kids gathering for an egg hunt. The last few years, my husband and I celebrated at the home of friends, but this year, we made a reservation for brunch at a favorite local restaurant. It’s already completely booked up, so I imagine I’ll see some of you there. I’ll be the one wearing the really BIG hat!
The Easter Bunny has been busy! He’s been hiding eggs, chocolate and other treats, and there are several opportunities to find them at various Easter Egg Hunts & Bunny Photo Ops scheduled throughout the South Bay. Grab your basket now because you don’t miss out on these EGG-CELLENT celebrations! http://www.southbaybyjackie.com/south-bay-easter-egg-hunts/. BE SURE TO CONFIRM ANY EVENT YOU PLAN TO ATTEND AT THE INDIVIDUAL WEBSITE OR BY PHONE.

The Torrance Rose Float Association invites the community to the next Restaurant for Roses event this afternoon, Thursday, April 13 at IHOP from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Torrance Crossroads Shopping Center. This is a change from the market’s previous hours of 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The operating time is moving two hours further into the day to accommodate locals who work outside of Hermosa Beach or can’t step away during the daytime. This new time allows people to still frequent the weekly event during their lunch hour or swing by on their way home from work. It’s also a great opportunity for children and parents to shop for healthy snacks after school. The HBCCVB looks forward to better serving the community with this time change.
