South Bay Weekend Guide March 9, 2017

The South Bay by Jackie Weekend Guide offers comprehensive coverage of the greater South Bay area.

Yesterday morning on The South Bay Show we discussed lice….and my skin and scalp were crawling the entire hour! But it was a really informative show and if you have kids, you should listen to it. This morning on the show, we’re going to run down the local election results. Be sure to tune in, and if you have a comment or question, we’ll be taking calls!

In an effort to help raise much needed funds for South Bay Education Foundations, zinc@shade at Shade Hotel in Manhattan Beach has launched a weekly Back to School Night campaign. Designed to encourage social gatherings in support of local schools, the popular restaurant and lounge will donate 15% of each check for guests seated from 6 p.m. to close every Thursday night to the local education foundation of their choice. Manhattan Beach, El Segundo, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, Torrance, and Peninsula education foundations will benefit. “There is an incredible amount of support for the schools in the South Bay, and we want to honor that support,” said Michael Zislis, owner of Shade Hotels. “Back to School Night at zinc@shade gives friends, family and co-workers a great reason to get together for a good time and a good cause, knowing that a percentage of their check will help local schools. We are excited to see which Ed Foundation gets the most support.” zinc@shade offers an energized, contemporary setting with an exceptional selection of wines and beers, as well as a full bar and eclectic lunch, dinner and brunch menus curated by Executive Chef Ashley Oates featuring a broad selection of bites, salads, gourmet pizzas and entrees. Dining in available is the lounge or al fresco on the terrace. In addition to Back to School Thursdays, guests can enjoy half priced beer, wine, cocktails and appetizers for Shade Hour from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. For reservations and information about Back to School Night at zinc@shade, call (310) 546.4995. Shade Manhattan Beach is located at 1221 North Valley Drive in Manhattan Beach.

The Mayor, City Council Members, City Staff, beer lovers, locals, and a large contingent of Space X employees were on hand to celebrate this already popular brewery.
