This Saturday, May 6 at 9 a.m. is the first Esplanade Sweep of the season! The Esplanade, located on the west side of the street from Knob Hill to Miramar Park, is the crown jewel of Redondo Beach! Each of us that walks, runs, rides, or just sits along the Esplanade enjoying the view have a vested interest and responsibility to help maintain it. While each of us enjoys the Esplanade in different ways, some debris and wear and tear is inevitable if it’s to be enjoyed, but it’s not just the city’s responsibility to clean up after us – we are all responsible for our environment. The Keep the Esplanade Beautiful committee is reaching out to the community and asking you to come out Saturday morning, May 10 for an hour, and join fellow residents in a team effort to “Help Keep the Esplanade Clean”. The committee will provide supplies, direction and hopefully some laughs, as we work together as role models for others that also use the Esplanade. The first sweep is this Saturday morning at 9 a.m. Volunteers will meet on the Esplanade and Avenue I. Volunteers are needed for this Saturday, May 6, and the first Saturday in June, July, August and September. If you plan to attend, please RSVP to Sue at sbbodytender@yahoo.com. Your consideration is much appreciated and we look forward to seeing you on the Esplanade!
