Surf Report: Minor Energy

Low tide: -1.3 feet, 5:24 a.m.; 2.1 feet, 4:41 p.m. High tide: 4.0 feet, 11:58 a.m. Water temperature: 61-63 degrees.

Waking up with the waves on Friday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Redondo Beach Patch surf report. Well, you're not going to find much size along this stretch of coast, but if you like the small stuff, then it might be worth paddling.

We're starting off with some pretty clean and glassy conditions early on. Taking a look at the waves—there's mainly minor west-northwest windswell and just a touch of the steep angled southerly swell making its way into our window.

That recipe is making for some pretty crumbly lines, with some workable shoulders with a log or maybe a fish of some sort. Most Redondo Beach spots are running about knee- to waist-high, with the standout breaks pulling a few plus sets.

Taking a look at the tides—at 5:24 a.m. it drained out to a -1.3-foot low, which will have some spots lacking water and seeming inconsistent early- to mid-morning.  The tide then pushes back up to a 4-foot high at 11:58 a.m. before dropping once again to a 2.1-foot low at 4:41 p.m.

If you're going to get wet, throw on a thin fullsuit for at least that morning session with the water temperature hanging between 61 and 63 degrees. Have fun out there!
