Surf Report: More Small Waves

Low tide: -1.3 feet, 4:51 a.m.; 2.0 feet, 4:03 p.m. High tide: 3.8 feet, 11:20 a.m. Water temperature: 59-62 degrees.

Good Thursday morning, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Redondo Beach Patch surf report. It looks like the dominant swell out there is passing by this neck of the woods. So, basically we're only seeing small energy out there, but if you head down south or north a ways you'll find much more size.

We're starting off with some fairly clean conditions early on. Taking a look at the waves—there's some modest south swell in the water, but it's not getting into this part of the coast, so we're only picking up some minor west-northwest windswell.

That recipe is offering some fairly weak sectiony lines, with a few fun ones on a log, an SUP or maybe a fish.  Most Redondo Beach spots are running about knee- to thigh-high, with the focal points pulling some waist-high waves and not much more than that.

At 4:51 a.m., the tide dropped to a -1.3-foot low, which will have several spots lacking water early- to mid-morning. The tide will climb to a 3.8-foot high at 11:20 a.m. and then drops again to a 2-foot low at 4:03 p.m.

If you're planning on paddling, a 3/2 mm full suit will do you right, with the water temperature averaging between 59 and 62 degrees. Good luck out there!
