Surf Report: Not Much Energy

High tide: 3.3 feet, 5:33 a.m.; 5.3 feet, 5:56 p.m. Low tide: 1.1 feet, 11:09 a.m. Water temperature: 59-61 degrees.

Waking up with the waves on Friday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Redondo Beach Patch surf report. Well, it's about time for a jumpstart—you're not going to find much energy along this stretch of sand. We're seeing some pretty minor swell activity, so go with a small-wave board of some sort.

The conditions are fairly clean early on, with a mix of mostly leftover southwesterly swell and not much northwest energy in the water to speak of.  That recipe is offering some fairly soft, broken-up lines with a few fun ones.

Most Redondo Beach spots are running about knee- to waist-high, with the top combo breaks seeing maybe a plus set if you're lucky.

At 5:33 a.m., the tide climbed up to a 3.3-foot high. It will drop to a 1.1-foot low at 11:09 a.m. before pushing up once again to a 5.3-foot high at 5:56 p.m.

If you're going to get wet, a 3/2 mm full suit will definitely do the job, with the water temperature hanging between 59 and 61 degrees.
