Surf Report: Time for a Wake-Up Call

Low tide: 0.8 feet, 7:15 a.m. High tide: 4.3 feet, 2 p.m. Water temperature: 65-67 degrees.

Good Wednesday morning, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Redondo Beach Patch surf report. Well, it's time for a wake-up call: we're not seeing much in the way of waves along this stretch of sand or anywhere along the SoCal coast.

The conditions are looking pretty clean from the start, with a mixture of some minor new southwest swell and just a little northwest windswell in the water.

That recipe is offering this neck of the woods with some crumbly semi-wally lines breaking fairly close to shore, with maybe a few workable ones. Most spots in Redondo Beach are running about knee-high, with the focal points pulling a few thigh- to waist-high waves.

Taking a look at the tide—at 7:15 a.m. it dropped to a 0.8-foot low, which will have some spots in need of water early to mid-morning.  The tide will push up to a 4.3-foot high at 2 p.m.

If you're planning on paddling, a spring suit should do the job, with the water temperature averaging between 65 and 67 degrees. Good luck out there!
