Surf Report: Wave Action Increases

High tide: 3.3 feet, 6:59 a.m.; 5.0 feet, 6:52 p.m. Low tide: 1.6 feet, 12:18 p.m. Water temperature: 58-60 degrees.

Waking up with the waves on Friday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Redondo Beach Patch surf report. Well, we're seeing an increase in the action with some playful-sized surf this morning, so go grab a session at some point during the day.

We're starting off with some nice and clean conditions with a mixture of swells out there. We have mainly new northwest swell and just a touch of south-southwesterly energy in the water.

That recipe is giving this stretch of sand some kind of crumbly and sectiony lines, with some nice steep corners to pick off. Most Redondo Beach spots are seeing knee- to chest-high waves, with the top combo breaks pulling a few larger sets.

At 6:59 a.m. the tide pushed up to a 3.3-foot high. It drops to a 1.6-foot low at 12:18 p.m. before climbing up once again to a 5.0-foot high at 6:52 p.m.

If you're planning on paddling, a will do the job, with the water temperature averaging between 58 and 60 degrees. Good luck out there!
