Surf Report: Workable With Small Wave Board

Low tide: -0.7 feet, 4:06 a.m.; 2.2 feet, 3:04 p.m. High tide: 3.6 feet, 10:38 a.m. Water temperature: 63-65 degrees.

Good Thursday morning, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Redondo Beach Patch surf report. Well, it's calling all you small wave enthusiasts! We're seeing more minor size surf, so get out a log, a stand-up paddleboard or possibly a fish.

We have some nice and glassy conditions early on, with a mix of some northwest windswell and some minimal residual south-southwest energy out there. That recipe is providing this stretch of sand with some fairly weak, broken-up lines, with a few decent ones.

Most spots in Redondo Beach are running about knee- to thigh-high, with the standout combo breaks pulling some waist-high and higher sets. Checking the tide—at 4:06 a.m., the tide drained out to a -0.7-foot low, which will have some spots lacking water early on. The tide will climb back up to a 3.6-foot high at 10:38 a.m. before falling again to a 2.2-foot low at 3:04 p.m.

If you're planning on paddling, a thin full suit will do you right for that morning session, with the water temperature hanging between 63 and 65 degrees. Good luck out there!
