A two-vehicle collision sent the SUV onto a sidewalk and into the living room of a Hawthorne home.

REDONDO BEACH, CA – A two-vehicle collision caused an SUV to plow through the living room of a Hawthorne home Monday evening, causing minor injuries to a senior citizen inside and displacing the family that lived in the home. The crash occurred about 9 p.m. in the area of Rosecrans and Cerise avenues, said Hawthorne Police Department Sgt. Joel Romero.
The white SUV was eastbound on Rosecrans Avenue when it was struck by a left-turning white Honda in the intersection, Romero said. The crash sent the SUV onto a sidewalk and into the living room of a home. A senior citizen who was in the living room suffered minor injuries, Romero said.
The man was taken to a hospital and has since been released, he said. Three children who were inside the home were uninjured, Romero added.
