Torrance Woman Rescued After She Breaks Leg Hiking Mount Baldy

She was flown to a hospital for medical treatment.

REDONDO BEACH, CA – A 31-year-old woman from Torrance was airlifted to a hospital Sunday after breaking her leg while hiking on Mount Baldy, authorities said. The injury on Cucamonga Peak Trail was reported to the San Bernardino Sheriff's Department at 12:17 p.m., according to the Daily Breeze.

Sheriff's officials said that the report indicated that the woman fell and fractured her lower leg. The sheriff's Air Rescue helicopter responded to the location at the 7,500 foot level and found the unnamed woman.

A medic was then lowered to treat the woman and helped the helicopter hoist her up. She was then flown to a hospital for medical treatment. Her current condition was unknown.
