Woman Crashes In Suspected Stolen Car In South Bay Following Chase

The chase ended in the area of Madrona Avenue and Spencer Street, where the suspect, who was not injured, was taken into custody.

TORRANCE, CA -- A suspect in a car that was reported stolen led police on a brief chase Monday in Torrance before she crashed into a median and was arrested, police said.

The chase ended about 5 p.m. in the area of Madrona Avenue and Spencer Street, where the suspect, who was not injured, was taken into custody, according to Torrance police Sgt. Ron Harris.

Her name and age were not immediately available.

Officers saw the car in the area of Hawthorne and Del Amo boulevards about 4:50 p.m. and tried to pull it over after it being alerted by an automated license plate reader, Harris said.
