14-Year-Old Stabs Young Man In Fight In SMC: Police

A 14-year-old boy was taken into custody on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon following a fight that injured an 18-year-old.

REDWOOD CITY, CA — A 14-year-old boy was arrested Tuesday in connection with a stabbing that occurred in Redwood City.

At around 1 p.m. on Tuesday on the 2100 block of Broadway, police said a fight broke out between an 18-year-old man and the 14-year-old boy. During the altercation, the teen boy pulled out a knife and stabbed the 18-year-old before leaving the area.

The victim suffered injuries to his face, along with stab wounds that were not life-threatening, police said.

He declined medical assistance at the scene.

Later that day, officers said they located the suspect at his home in Redwood City, where he was taken into custody.

The teen was booked into the San Mateo County Youth Services Center on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon.
