2 Redwood City Residents Severely Hurt In Sierra Car Accident

A 19-year-old woman and a 2-year-old boy were taken to UC Davis Medical Center after being thrown from a vehicle that overturned.

REDWOOD CITY, CA — Two people from Redwood City were severely injured after being ejected from a car in the Sierra Nevada foothills on Saturday, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Placerville office.

A 19-year-old woman and a 2-year-old boy were taken to UC Davis Medical Center after being thrown from a vehicle that overturned on westbound Highway 50 near Cameron Park, the Mercury News reported.

The car, a 2005 Toyota Tacoma, was driven by a 28-year-old man from Redwood City. Two other people in the vehicle were also injured. The driver was not, the CHP told the Mercury News.

Alcohol was “considered a possible factor” in the incident as the investigation is ongoing, according to CHP.
