4 Firefighters Expected To Recover After 6-Alarm SMC Fire

FOSTER CITY, CA — Firefighters remained at the scene Monday morning after a six-alarm fire heavily damaged a condominium building in Foster City, with crews continuing to extinguish hot spots, officials said.

The fire broke out Sunday at 815 Sea Spray Ln. in Foster City, prompting a massive emergency response. Four firefighters were injured while battling the blaze, but fire officials said Monday they are all expected to make a full recovery.

Several residents were evaluated at the scene, but no resident injuries were reported.

The fire escalated to six alarms as crews battled flames that tore through the multi-unit residential building. Residents were evacuated as firefighters worked for hours to bring the blaze under control.

Fire apparatus and personnel are expected to remain at the scene throughout the day while crews extinguish remaining hot spots.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
