Additional Evacuations Ordered In SMC As CZU Lightning Fires Rage

SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — Additional evacuations were ordered and warnings issued for parts of San Mateo County as the CZU Lightning Complex fires continued to rage overnight.

Fires at Olmo Truck Trail and Butano Fire Road, North Butano Truck Trail and Dearborn Park Road and North Butano Truck Trail and China Grade Road had each burned 3,000 acres and were 0 percent contained as of 7 a.m. according to Cal Fire.

Early Tuesday morning authorities issued evacuation orders for the areas of South Skyline Boulevard near Highway 9, Russian Ridge Open Space Reserve Area, Middleton Tract Area, Portola Redwoods State Park and Portola Heights Community Area.
