REDWOOD CITY, CA — A 38-year-old Redwood City man was arrested Wednesday after police said he entered a Sequoia High School unauthorized under the influence and with a metal file in his hand.
The Redwood City Police Department's School Liaison Officer was notified of an unauthorized adult on campus around 12:59 p.m. on Wednesday, police said.
The officer located Adrian Garciaisaula, who became increasingly agitated and confrontational and refused repeated commands, according to police. Officers said they deployed a Taser before taking him into custody because of his behavior and possession of the metal object.
Officers determined Garciaisaula was under the influence of a controlled substance, police said.
Garciaisaula was booked into Maguire Correctional Facility on suspicion of violating probation, resisting or obstructing a peace officer, remaining on school property or disrupting school activities, and being under the influence of a controlled substance, police said.
Police said the department's School Liaison Officers work with school administrators to address safety concerns and maintain a safe learning environment.
