Beauty and the Beast, Jr. Coming Soon to North Star

North Star Academy proudly presents the enchanted world of Disney’s Beauty And The Beast JR on March 5th through 8th. This musical is directed by Maureen McVerry. Music directed by Dave Dobrusky and Robert Moreno.

Featuring songs from the Academy Award-winning animated feature, this version includes music by Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman, along with new songs by Mr. Menken and Tim Rice. The classic story of a “tale as old as time,” tells of Belle, a young woman in a French provincial town in the 1700’s, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed to his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity. There are many hilarious characters in the story, from the self-absorbed Gaston, Belle’s suitor, and his side-kick LeFou, to the enchanted characters in the castle: Cogsworth the clock, Lumiere the candelabra, Mrs. Potts the tea kettle and many more! Songs include Belle, Human Again and a full length version of Be Our Guest. We hope you can join us for an enchanted and fun performance!
