City Hall in Redwood City Reopens After 'Suspicious Package' Scare [UPDATE]
The San Mateo County bomb squad determined the package was not an explosive device, police said. [BREAKING]

REDWOOD CITY, CA — City Hall in Redwood City was evacuated Tuesday while the San Mateo County Bomb Squad investigated a suspicious package in front of the building.
According to Redwood City Police, officers responded to the scene after getting a call around 9:50 a.m. The package was located by a maintenance worker.
Middlefield Road was closed to pedestrian and vehicle traffic from Jefferson Street to Main Street. City Hall was closed and employees were evacuated. City Hall and all surrounding streets have since reopened.

The bomb squad has concluded its investigation and it appears the package was not an explosive device, police said.
