Our 8th Annual Tree Pruning Workshop

Saturday, February 26th, 2011
9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Communities Activity Building (CAB)
1400 Roosevelt Ave.
Redwood City, CA 94061

The workshop will consist of over one hour of classroom training on tree maintenance given by a certified arborist. Focus is on younger street and yard trees. We will discuss the care of young trees and related aspects in basic tree biology. Other topics include: the reasons for pruning, the priorities of tree maintenance, tree growth types, and safe work practices. The class will then meet outside and nearby for hands-on practice of pruning techniques.

Coffee and bagels will be served.

A suggested donation of $10 or more is requested to help us plant more trees.

Note: A separate pruning workshop on fruit trees is planned for later in the year; However, techniques learned in this February workshop are useful for all tree types.
