In the last two years local gardener Efrain has noticed shiny vans promising to disrupt the conventional guy with a pick up truck model.

Efrain a local gardener with a decade of experience doing yard maintenance and general gardening all over San Mateo County has decided to make a stand.

For the first time in his life Efrain decided to make a change, one which make take his conventional service business to the next level. Comparatively Efrains experience is not much different than what other small businesses are experiencing.

"This year we hope to bring on more clients using the internet and highlight our earth friendly practices" said Efrain with an enthusiastic smile on his face.

Efrain a native of Mexico has a decade of experience as a professional gardener however his passion for plants started as a young child in his farm in the central state of Michoacan Mexico.

According to Efrain large corporate gardening services are popping up hellbent on stealing marketshare from independent gardeners who have acquired their clients through word of mouth and other referrals.

"You can't get any betta than an owner operator, you can't substitute experience no matter how shiny your fleet is" said Efrain with a chuckle

Efrain may be a small independent business nevertheless he has been providing earth friendly services such as organic lawn fertilizing, organic based disease control and blower less clean up for years.

"We understand some clients don't want smog or noise for those discerning clients we have alternatives" said Efrain.

Leaf blowers are a controversial issue in the bay area due to the noise, pollution and a tendency to stir up particulate however emerging technologies promise to mitigate those issues.
