Police say the man was found unresponsive Monday afternoon.

A man was found unconscious and unresponsive on a Redwood City jogging path Monday, and police say that he died at the scene.
At 3:22 p.m., police got a call about an individual lying on a pathway in the area of Beacon Shores and Marine Parkway, according to a Redwood City Police alert.
“Medical personnel provided aid and attempted to revive him,” police said. “These efforts were not successful and he was pronounced deceased at the scene.”

Though the official cause of death won’t be determined until the San Mateo County coroner’s office conducts their investigation, police say the death does not appear suspicious.
“Based on the preliminary investigation it appears the individual suffered a medical emergency and there are no signs of foul play,” police said.
