Man Who Sexually Abused 3 Children Pleads No Contest In Redwood City: DA

Prosecutors said he abused two sisters at one home before moving to another residence where he abused a third child.

REDWOOD CITY, CA — A 69-year-old Redwood City man faces 20 years in state prison after pleading no contest to sexually abusing three children over the course of nearly a decade, the San Mateo County District Attorney's Office announced Monday.

Sergio Emilio Perez-Juarez was convicted of one count of forcible lewd act upon a child and one count of continuous sexual abuse.

Prosecutors said the abuse of the three victims occurred between 2012 and 2021.

Two of the victims are sisters whose family had allowed Perez-Juarez to live with them, prosecutors said.

He later moved to another residence, where he abused a third child, according to the district attorney's office.

Sentencing is scheduled for July 13.

Perez-Juarez remains in custody with no bail.
