Woodside Homicide Probed
The case is being investigated as a homicide, the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office said.
SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — A man’s body was found Tuesday in Woodside, and the case is being investigated as a homicide, the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office said.
Authorities were notified about 5 p.m. of a possible body just off Highway 35 near Quail Court in an elevated and somewhat isolated area near Burleigh Murray Ranch State Park according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Medics determined that the man been dead "for quite some time," Detective Rosemerry Blankswade said.

The Sheriff's Office identified the man as Eddy Cervantes, 40 of East Palo Alto.

Blankswade said the investigators are working with the Coroner's Office to determine the cause of his death, "but at this point in time, due to the suspicious nature of how he was found, our investigators are treating it like a homicide."

Skyline Boulevard was closed between Quail Courtand state Highway 92 Wednesday morning.
