The SBSA Commission has authorized changes to a CIP-funded project that includes the Maintenance Building. The list of modifications includes:
- Convert former temporary control room to house Electrical/Instrumentation staff. Modifications include wall demolition and installation of a new window.
- Modify the parts storage area to create additional shop bench space.
- Convert the men’s restroom to a unisex restroom, including addition of a new water closet and reframing walls.
- Convert the women’s restroom to an electrical-parts storage room.
- Convert former Men’s Locker Room to office space for the mechanics. Required modifications include demolition of interior tiles, addition of electrical outlets, removal and replacement of hard lid ceiling with acoustical ceiling, replacement of light fixtures to be compatible with new ceiling, and framing and installation of new windows.
- Convert the existing location of electricians/instrumentation technicians to a coating/painting storage area. Modifications are comprised of removing old furniture and providing shelving.
