Mountain Lion Sighting Reported in Loma Mar
The big cat was spotted after midnight in the vicinity of Loma Mar Avenue and Pescadero Creek Road, officials said.

The San Mateo County Office of Emergency Services is reporting a mountain lion sighting Thursday morning in the Loma Mar area.

The sighting occurred around 12:45 a.m. in the vicinity of Loma Mar Avenue and Pescadero Creek Road, officials said.
The Office of Emergency Services is reminding residents to not approach a mountain lions, especially if it is feeding or with offspring.

Hikers and joggers are advised to avoid these activities at dusk and dawn, when mountain lions are most active.
Residents are also advised to keep a close watch on and pick up small children.
The office advises residents who come into contact with mountain lions to not run, to face the animal, make noise, try to look bigger by waving their arms and to throw rocks and other objects.
