Taking place in cities across the United States, Moving Day® is a chance to speak up about Parkinson’s disease and move others to take action. It is a movement for change—towards more awareness, more funding, and more understanding of a disease that affects so many of our family and friends.
This celebration of movement will feature a family friendly walk course, a kids area, a special Movement Pavilion featuring yoga, dance, Tai Chi, Pilates, etc., all PD-oriented and open to families as well as people with PD. Registration starts at 9am, and the opening ceremony starts at 10:20, and the walk starts at 10:30. A 1, 2, or 3 mile walk will be offered. The event concludes around 1pm.

Moving Day is a nice way of giving to a worthy charitable cause, and building team spirit amongst employees. It is a fun family event that can be done easily with kids. You can either join an existing team, or you can have a team for your family or business! http://www.npfmovingday.org
There is a holiday kickoff party for Moving Day® on Tues, Dec 2 at Central Park & Rec Center at 50 East 5th Avenue, San Mateo. You’re invited to join Planning Committee members, corporate sponsors, team leaders, walkers, and volunteers as you get the story on the April 2015 events. While you are there register your team, or sign on with Parkinson’s Women Support’s team, or make a self donation in honor of #GivingTuesday, and party with your own team members. Enjoy a light dinner buffet, desserts, festive beverages, holiday music and some great conversations. The evening kicks off at 6:30 PM. The Moving Day® presentation starts at 7:00 PM. Convenient off-street parking is available. RSVP or learn more and explore the various options with the coordinator, Colleen Fischer, Moving Day Bay Area Coordinator, National Parkinson Foundation, cfischer@parkinson.org, 925-421-6737.
