Omicron vs. mRNA Vaccines like Moderna & Pfizer – Who will win?

COVID - Alpha, Beta, Delta, Omicron.... vaccines need to last to expedite the end of a pandemic!

Last week, President Joe Biden spoke to the nation about the importance of getting vaccinated and boosted. A couple of weeks ago, I attended the 2021 Global Innovation and Future Technology Summit (https://www.giftsummit2021.com/) where one of the partners of Flagship Pioneer, Michael Rosenblatt, the company that founded and initially funded Moderna spoke. In addition, recently, the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) said that it preferred Moderna & Pfizer over the Johnson & Johnson (J&J) vaccine because out of 17 million people who have received the J&J vaccine in the US, there have been 50+ cases of thrombosis and 9 deaths.

To begin with let me admit, I am not willing to get an mRNA vaccine until it has been out there for at least 3-5 years. Ideally longer. After many months of considering the options, I finally relented and got an adenovirus vaccine. In the US this means I got a Johnson & Johnson vaccine. While there are other adenovirus vaccines, they have not been approved for use in the US. That decision however was not an easy one as at first the US delayed approval, then put a hold on the approval for J&J. Now again they are discouraging its use.

What is really striking about the whole process, is that according to the conference presenter the issue with mRNA is that the body gets rid of it. In the case of Moderna’s vaccine the breakthrough was attaching it to a lipid that we now know only delays the release. Suddenly, the need for a third booster, fourth booster and so on and so forth makes perfect sense. That was and is a known problem with the technology, it doesn’t last.

I would argue that a vaccine that only lasts six months shouldn’t even be called a vaccine. We tend to associate vaccination with lifetime immunity or at least long-term immunity as in ten years or more; for a shot that only lasts about six months to be called a vaccine is really deceptive advertising. Moreover, this problem affects almost everyone who takes a mRNA vaccine and yet an adenovirus vaccine side effect that affects significantly fewer users is considered less safe. Probably the reality is even worse than I am presenting here. What do I mean?

Let’s examine antibiotics, the strength of antibiotics is waning. It has taken almost seventy years but adding antibiotics to everything including animal feedlots and not completing suggested dosages has meant that today bacteria have evolved to resist antibiotics. Exactly what is happening with Covid, except for in the case of Covid, the virus is mutating much faster and the “vaccines” the public and a lot of governments were sold on are losing their strength and effectiveness even faster.

At this point, I really feel that somehow the CDC and others who should know all of this are corrupt. If the fact that the body eliminates mRNA was the known problem with the technology, then the fact that Moderna and Pfizer were able to get it to last six months is yes, an improvement but not at all a solution. On the one hand there are now articles about how mRNA should be used in other diseases but if it only lasts at best six months, anything other than short episodic diseases should not be considered for treatment with mRNA derived therapies!

Honestly, I thought the problem would be that it would remain in the body too long and cause some unanticipated side effect. I am thinking here specifically of the birth control pill that women take not to get pregnant but which after 20-30 years of broad usage was also found to decrease acne and was even finally approved as an acne treatment with the side effect of reducing ovulation and pregnancy. Which is the treatment? Which is the side effect? Clearly in this case, up to the patient who decides to take it.

But back to mRNA, the KNOWN issue in the scientific/medical community was and is instead that the body is very effective at removing it. Like the speaker recently informed the attendees the real breakthrough was attaching it to a lipid. Clearly, they thought it would remain in the body for much longer. The canary in the coal mine regarding mRNA vaccines is Israel (https://www.jpost.com/health-a...) as it has rolled out primarily Pfizer vaccines. It turns out that regardless of age, the body eventually identifies mRNA and eliminates it! Given that the period turns out to be around six months for a long-term disease cycle, it is useless! Israel is in the process of authorizing fourth boosters.

Scientific companies that are essentially gauging customers and misleading government officials by providing short-term band-aids that are being sold as long-term solutions turn the public against science to the detriment of society at large. We shouldn’t allow them to get away with this.
