Peninsula Bank Robbed: Female Culprit Sought, Cops Say

Police are asking for help in finding the woman they say demanded cash from a local business.

PALO ALTO, CA — Palo Alto police are asking for the public's help finding a woman suspected in a bank robbery.

According to Palo Alto Police Agent Marianna Villaescusa, a woman entered the Star One Credit Union at 3903 El Camino Real around 10:20 a.m. Tuesday, waited in line with the other customers and approached a teller. Upon reaching the teller, the woman then handed over a note demanding money.

"The teller complied with the suspect's demand," Villaescusa said in a news release. "No weapon was seen."

The woman then took off running, and was last seen going eastbound on the 400 block of Ventura Avenue, the agent said. No vehicle was seen.

"Witnesses described the suspect as a heavy-set, black female in her twenties or thirties, standing about 5’10" tall," Villaescusa said. "She had long, dark hair, and was wearing sunglasses, a light colored blouse, and a black jacket."
