Peninsula Man Arrested On Suspicion Of DUI

Suspect's blood alcohol level was nearly three times the legal limit according to police.

SAN MATEO, CA — A San Mateo man was arrested Wednesday night on suspicion of driving under the influence after a colliding with a parked car with his child in the back seat at the time of the crash, police said.

Jose Monzon Martinez, 27, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and child endangerment, police said.

Martinez collided with a parked vehicle near S. Fremont Street and Cypress Ave. at around 10:50 p.m., police said.

Police said his blood alcohol was nearly three times the legal limit.

Martinez was booked at San Mateo County Jail and his child was released to a family member, police said.
