Peninsula Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Grand Theft Auto: Police
David Benedicrivas was arrested Wednesday for the second time within the span of a week according to police.
SAN MATEO, CA — A San Mateo theft suspect was arrested for the second time in the span of a week, police said.
David Benedicrivas, 25, was arrested on suspicion of grand theft auto and possession of drug paraphernalia early Wednesday morning in an area identified as a crime “hot spot” where patrols have increased in recent weeks according to police.
Police patrolling the area around the 100 block of W. Hillsdale Blvd. conducted a DMV check on a suspicious vehicle indicating the vehicle was stolen out of San Mateo on Sept. 20, police said.

Officers arrested Benedicrivas during an enforcement stop of the vehicle and found him to be in possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.
Benedicrivas was arrested Dec. 23 on suspicion of package theft according to police.

In compliance with COVID-19 jail protocol he was issued a felony citation and released with a promise to appear in court, police said.
